From Tokyo to Hakuba

Airport Shuttle Bus from Tokyo

If hitting the slopes is your priority, timing your flight to match one of the direct airport shuttle bus departures from Narita or Haneda Airport is a great option. The Nagano Snow Shuttle offers convenient, direct transport to Hakuba, saving you time and effort. The Nagano Snow Shuttle is an affordable choice. Bullet Train from Tokyo

Take the shinkansen (bullet train) from Tokyo or Ueno Station to Nagano, a journey of approximately 1.5 hours. From Nagano Station, transfer to a bus that departs regularly from just outside the station, taking about an hour to reach Hakuba. Learn more and book tickets:

Azusa Train from Tokyo

For a direct route to Hakuba, take the Limited Express Azusa train from Shinjuku Station. The journey takes approximately 4 hours and offers scenic views of the countryside. Please note there is only one departure daily in the morning, so plan accordingly.

Chartered or Shared Taxi

If it’s your first time in Japan, a private transfer can be a stress-free option. While more expensive than public transport, it offers comfort and convenience, especially after a long flight. The journey takes approximately 5 hours.

Luggage storage before in Tokyo before or after your visit to Hakuba

If you plan to stay in Tokyo for a few days before heading to Hakuba, you can use the convenient luggage forwarding service available at the airport. This allows you to send your ski gear directly to the lodge and travel light in Tokyo.

Alternatively, if you’re heading straight to Hakuba first and plan to explore Tokyo afterward, you can forward your luggage from the lodge back to the airport.
